Divi Phoenix vs. La Cabana??

Can anyone compare/contrast the two? I'm trying to decide between the two places. I've stayed on Palm Beach before but further down Playa Linda, HI, Marriott and never on Eagle Beach.

I also have friends staying at the Westin so being near them is a plus but I have heard Eagle beach is beautiful..

I'm torn- any info would be helpful!

The Phoenix is a hotel right on the beach whereas LaCabana is a timeshare across the road from the beach. It depends on whether you want a hotel room or an apartment with a kitchen. Personally we prefer being on the beach which is why we have a timeshare on Eagle Beach. However how decide, have a great trip.

barbie, the divi phoenix is a timeshare with really nice units in several sizes. it is on the beach and they have high rise, low rise and their new units that i understand are beautiful.

the two major differences in the places are that one is across the street from the beach and the other is on the beach and lacabana has more kids therefore more activities for kids.

you are right that eagle beach is beautiful but so is that part of palm beach since it is sort of cut off from the other timeshares and hotels so not over crowded.

either place is excellent depending upon your needs.

So very sorry - always under the impression that the Phoenix is a hotel. We still prefer being directly on the beach and not having to cross the road.

totally agree and phoenix is on the beach. great place that i happen to love. have stayed there at least 3 times.

Thanks for your info... I think we are going to choose the Divi Phoenix!

Is it a far walk to the Westin? and to any of the restaurants? I've walked the area before but I really can't remember.

if you go via the beach path it is a short walk to the westin. i don't think it is too far to the restaurants either but honestly, not sure.

The Divi is right next to the Westin. I've been to Aruba twice and have stayed at the Divi Phoenix. I stayed there November 09 and then this past June 10 and its a short walk to the Westin. Its a hop, skip and a jump to it. Your right next door to it.

The beach walk is flat & it's really pretty easy to walk to the other hotels with no problems. The Westin is a nice short walk even for people like my hubby who is not much of a walker! However.......... There's an area between the Westin & Phoenix that has no lighting & we don't feel safe going that way when we're out late.

You will love the Phoenix - we are owners there. It is on the best part of Palm Beach - at the very end near Eagle Beach and is very private. It is easily walking distance to any of the bars and restaurants on Palm Beach but far enough away to not have to deal with the crowds. We will be back in 44 days - can't come soon enough

I am so excited now that it's all booked! We arrive on Tuesday! Does the pool bar have happy hour? ( I assume yes). I think our room is in the beach tower.

Do they do any kind of hut reservations- is that needed this time of year?

I can't remember what time (maybe 4-6) but there is a happy hour every day. It is 1/2 price drinks.

There are never any hut reservations needs there. I am usually out by 7:30 or so (early) and there are plenty of front and second row huts open til well after 11 and there are always some open all day.
