We will be at the Mill...Lings or Chengs for some groceries?
Are both accessible by bus? Then depending on how much we buy take a taxi back? Are they open Sundays? Thanks!!

??? Can't say who is the best. Always went to Lings as liked their muffins and wine selection. Think all of the big stores are open on Sunday. Check Web site for hours.
Ling and Sons IGA Super Center - Aruba supermarket with online shopping >>> "Are both accessible by bus?" ---- I know Lings is. Tell bus driver where you want to get off. Should be a bus stop at the traffic light between the Divi and Tam. Will have about a 2 block walk to Lings. There is a small map on their Web Site. Click on it to get bigger. I believe Ling's is open on Sundays from 9 to 1.
It's also my store of choice, but I do run into Super Food once in a while, too. |

You're quite welcome, Kate.
Taxis are usually parked outside of Lings for people who need a ride back, and if not, they'll call one for you at the desk. |

Just returned from 2 heavenly weeks on One Happy Island and wanted to let you all know that the new "Super Foods" store is coming along faster than any other project I have seen being built on Aruba. It is going to be huge and all of the local people are looking forward to it's opening in the near future. Should be done by this December. For those that do not know location, it is on the main road, (don't know the name) behind LaCabana and Tropicana area. If staying in that area, one could certainly walk to shop.

Well, since you asked. Downtown is all torn up, traffic is terrible in that entire area.
Beaches at Casa Del Mar and ABC look absolutely fantastic. Much work has been done since that bad storm couple of years ago. They looked much wider to me and beautiful white sand. You will love it. Work still being done at LaCabana, and also at Tropicana. Tropicana looks to be in great shape. Everything really clean and kept up well. A lot less people in April/May than Feb/Mar or Dec. No problems getting into restaurants. Still have same issues with the standing water after the downpouring rains. I surely do wish the island officials would take a better look at their infrastructure before they continue to give building permits out. Lines at airport still long but mostly because Airline personnel were not at their posts. All planes of people that I know that came from Vermont, Philly, Boston and Providence, RI and Charlotte were full coming in. So this tells me that people are still taking their trips to our Island Paradise. |

On the original topic, we personally like Ling's.
We stay 3 weeks so we also look at the other major markets. It would be great if the new Super Food is ready when we go in September. We do think that the present Super Food does have an excellent bakery. Seems like many other products (packaged and frozen) are from suppliers in The Netherlands. IMO. So, our first stop is Ling's...but we will check out all the others for continuing supplies. We were not impressed with Kong Fui last September, but understand that it fills a need for those near the high-rise. |
