On a scale of 1 to 10, the Tam scored well of the chart. Everything was beyond what we could have imagined.

We somehow lucked our way into the most desirable building on the resort, based on beach access, bar/restaurant location. Perfectly not too close and not too far.

We will be returning many times, if we don't end up simply moving to the island!

We met Kent on Saturday morning, our first full day. What a great guy!
He took time out of his trip to show us one of the best spots to snorkel.
He loaned us gear that we were lacking and had great patience in dealing with Wendy, who is not the most confident in the water. Even left us with a parting gift!
Big THANKS!!! to Kent!
BTW Kent, we bought ourselves a proper underwater digital cam after seeing yours!

At no time during the trip did we feel unsafe. We managed to put 500 kilometers on our rental, exploring nearly every square inch of the coast and as much of the "interior" as we could.
All days were mostly the same routine; swim 0700, breakfast 0730, driving/exploring 0800, back on the beach, drinking and eating 1200 (usually with Janet and Eric...see if they're on this forum).

All in all a great trip!

Now, here is where I'll answer some of my own questions.
The parking at the Tam felt very safe.
The sliding door was rarely locked while we were on the resort, including while eating for a half hour or more.
I came across a great map at Windys dive shop. $10, waterproof and updated, even though street signage is sparse. I highly recommend this one, if you feel the need for one.
That's about all the questions that I can answer or that are worth answering.

Now a few photos! We took 950 but mostly sunsets!

Bats in one of the caves.

Wendy enjoying the fish!
Surlee - What section of the Tam did you end up staying in? We will be staying there in August and I would love to get a prime spot like the one you've described!!! I'm so glad that you had a wonderful time down there and it makes me want to go even more now!!! Thanks again for your postings!

Building 14.
My opinion is rooms 1411, 1413 and 1415 are the best.
The noise from the nightly entertainment won't bother you.

We're old enough to remember staying at the Tam BEFORE it was all-inclusive, before we bought a timeshare to return every year.
I looked at my wife's memory book and we stayed in the 1300 block. Based on Surlee's response, I know they are a way to the north side...not very near to the central restaurant-entertainment area. Anything to the north puts you closer to the "bay" area for swimming...a big beach area before you get to the Divi Aruba AI.
