Angry Not an Honest Taxi Ambassador

We have been coming to Aruba for a number of years and have always found the taxi drivers great people and Arubian Ambassadors!
We're currently staying at the Marriott Surf Club and asked our taxi driver to take us to the Renaissance Mall. Along the way we noticed a number of shops closed. The driver finally admitted it was a religious holiday and stores could be closed. All the stores were closed!

We checked with other taxi drivers and they knew about the mall being closed.

My postscript......It was an expensive round trip that could have been avoided- The Office of Tourism should do a better job of advising tourists on holidays and when shops will be closed.

We'll be renting a car on the next visit!
