Default Seaport Mall

I know that construction/renovation has been ongoing for the Seaport Mall and I heard that many tenants moved out because of this. Are Dunkin Donuts and Haagen Dazs still there? Thank you!

Rage Silver is there but they closed their gold store. Shabby Chic is there but they have about 1/4 of the space they used to. It's a little sad...

I LOVE DD and will admit I like baskin robbin's better the HD - but it's ice cream so it's all good! Next time your there - see if they are still selling Aruba windshield scrapers - that's the one thing that cracks me up

Aruba windshield scrapers as in ice scrapers??? That is hysterical - if they are - buy me a couple and I'll either pick them up next year or maybe Sherry can bring them back for me!!!! That is just too funny!

We need a scraper for our car in Aruba since we don't have a heater. I would be in trouble if our widshield froze over.

Unhappy Re: Seaport Mall

Rage better never leave!!! That place seems to draw me back every year!

I love the shoes at Shabby Chic, and it never fails that I find new ones every year no matter how small the store gets.

Never knew there was another one, Liz!

I was sorely disappointed with both "malls" last September...on the hotel side and the timeshare side.
I'm not the shopper in the family, but we always found something unique at a small store on the hotel side (pewter salad tongs as an example) and some good deals on Belleek items and linens on the casino side. One was gone and the other just seemed to be hanging on (reduced inventory).
Just my opinion, but I don't know how some of the "designer name" stores in the Main Street area survive. We don't patronize them in the US. Just looking, but the prices are not a bargain in Aruba. Aside from sales tax, what is the attraction in Aruba? I don't believe the average Aruban is a regular customer.

I think Champaigne is the place I think you got the linens and Belleek -
they have scaled back on their linens and don't seem to be replacing their china stuff but they sell a ton of swarovski jewelry and items. It's strange because they discount it as well as little switzerland but the swarovski shop is full price - go figure.

Not sure of what the other store is but the Mall is pretty much empty on the hotel and casino sides but still has the stores in the middle.

Yes, Champagne was the store where we bought a number of Belleek items and some decent buys on linens.
In years gone past, they also had a shop on the Main Street...it was sort of a small mall. You walked in a corridor and there were a few shops on each side.

I still can't remember the name of the other store on the hotel side. It was in the corridor between the two sections (there were bathrooms and a mini-market on the other side). To be honest, I think the store mostly featured fragrances and soaps...but they had some a few nice gift items that we liked and purchased.

oh dear, I saw the Rage post and had to be revived with smelling salts, if I don't visit that store at least 3 times a trip and if I don't get several pieces of jewelry swiped by my sister when I return home I haven't considered it a successful trip. . I hope they never leave.

I Love Aruba Re: Seaport Mall

I'd be devastated!!! My trip isn't complete without a purchase or two or three from Rage, and everything I've bought wears soooooooooo well!! Can't tell you how many rings I have, and always get compliments when I wear them.

Love, love, love that shop!!

Totally agree. We were there in April, Easter week, and the stores were dead !

The main customers of the "designer" stores are the Latin Americans. Things in Aruba are much cheaper than there. I just think it's kinda funny
that right in back of the mall if you walk down that street are tons of stores that carry "rip off" designer stuff!

When the Hard Rock Cafe was going to open - there was a sweep of all those stores (and the flea market) to get all the bootleg stuff off to stop. Always thought it was funny that people bought the hard rock stuff when there wasn't one on the island. Also never got why all the Aruba "bob marley" stuff
was a big item too. I don't think he even visited here! LOL!
