Since we (almost all) think the Screaming Eagle is out of our budgets or don't like what is on their menu, here is the menu for the Wacky Wahoo. It is located at the O'Fardo Portugese Restaurant location. It's after Wendy's but on the right side of the road.
They also have a BBQ on Sundays from 11 am-4 pm that runs around $10-$12. The owner Harald was the owner of the BBQ at the old fishermans Hadicurari location. WACKY WAHOO – LUNCH MENU WACKY WAHOO-DINNER MENU |

Hi All
Just back from beautiful Aruba. We went to this The whole week we told everyone to go there. What a find A+++++++Rest. twice. The catch of the day is only $16 cooked your way The chef is German he comes out to talk to you to see how everything is. Very nice ambiance, great music, The service was top notch. Salads were crisp and full of the usuall veggies & corn, egg & Homemade dressings. The cuban soup was very tastey, The fish, grouper & Mahi-Mahi awesome, The presentation, A big white plate in the shape of a fish, yellow rice, veggies, plantains, cole slaw, and some sort of dipping relish for the fish, DELISH! The desert, we had the same thing twice, homemade choc. brownies w/homemade vanilla ice cream, choc. sauce, mine was the passion fruit, w/baby peaches in Grand Marnier unbelievalble, the coffee was steamed which was very good. This place is really great! Probably next year when we go it will be too mobbed to get in. But they are worth the wait and they deserve it!! Enjoy |

Very cozy and friendly place. This place seats about 40 people max.
The place was very clean and upscale in it's appearance. The cook is from the buccaneer, so I'm told. Ito who is a bellcap at Westin says his sister is part owner. I met her, very friendly and accommodating. The food and food quality is superb. My only real constructive critisim is in the menu and desciptions. I feel they should be more descriptive and use more adjectives to describe the dishes they are providing. We all ordered the Pasta linguini with "crispy shrimp", you would guess them to be battered and fried, no they are pan seared. It could be just a regional language thing. Again just a small thing to improve on. Would I go back? HELL YES! Food Quality excellent Portion Good, with what we ordered and payed a small salad or bread sticks would have been nice if included. Presentation Good, nice color and appealing to the eye Serving Temp, Excellent-bring me my food steaming hot! All and all a great choice for lunch or dinner, just a few bugs to work out as time goes on. I highly reccommend! |

millertime: you probably met the owner's sister Roxanne. The owner Harold had worked at the Bucaneer. He also had owned the barbeque at fisherman's huts.

our meal was very good and very reasonable. We both had cuban black bean soup. Murray had fishy bob’s favorite shrimp casserole and I had marinated seafood skewers. The portions were quite large and very tasty. The only complaint we had with the place was just a minor one. It is something we notice in all small seafood restaurants. The catch of the day is the only fish of the day. If you don’t like that particular fish you don’t get fish for dinner. The reason is obvious…freshness and quality. However, it reduces selection. Ironically they had a catch that was not one of our favorites but we still had a lovely meal and would easily return. The price for dinner was $58 including a nice tip for good service.

Best deal on the island. No pretense - just wonderful food in an friendly atmosphere. Seafood is caught that day - they'll even cook what you catch fishing that day for you. Never had a bad deal and with their affordable prices I can go there often without spending mega$$$. I think their quality is above some of the pricier restaurants on the island.
Can not say enough good things about this one! |

This was a very enjoyable meal! We went with Scrubs and Doc after the BB party at the AM. I don't remember what they ate, but I had the bean soup...delicious!! Then we both had the fish...which I think was wahoo...not sure!! DH had ordered it in Papillote..but there was a mistake, and he got it with the garlic butter sauce. He found it a bit too greasy...but the flavor was good. I had mine with the tomatoes..it was very good. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the friendliness, and the basic good food and comfort of the place.
All in all, a great place for an unpretentious, inexpensive good meal. |

last time we were at wacky wahoo we had only one complaint. the fish of the day was the only fish. it happened to have been our least favorite fish. this time we eliminated that complaint since they had grouper, mahi mahi and our all time favorite-wahoo. without a doubt, this meal was a 10. their house salad is unique, tasty, crisp and large. their garlic bread was great and we each had a different version of wahoo (pan fried and grilled) and both were wonderful with several sides that all were excellent. we topped off the meal by splitting the chocolate brownie with ice cream and it was plenty for two with 2 big pieces of brownie. the total including 2 soft drinks and 2 coffees was $65 plus tip. they do not add a 15% service charge.

i can almost copy and paste my last post on this thread. wacky wahoo is one of the most consistently tasty restaurants we go to. we love their food. tonight it was bean soup for murray, their wonderful salad for me and pan fried wahoo for both of us. totally awesome food! no dessert this time. just had no room left.
we will warn you to make a reservation. the place is very small so they fill quickly. every table was full tonight and the other night when we tried to get in without a reservation it was impossible. |

WWHoo continues to serve, in my opinion, the best fish on the Island. The only negative I can think of is that, because the place is small, it tends to be noisy as the evening goes on. I try to eat there early and often!

This is one of our favorite restaurants and I only tried it for the first time this year in August and went twice. Excellent food, good service and very reasonable prices, especially when you're used to shelling out much more money for less quality. Even got a red t-shirt there last time which has their name on it. Will go again for this consistently good place to eat.

Wacky Wahoo was the best seafood dinner we had during our 7 night stay last week. Service was great, the Balashi was served in ice cold mugs, 3 of us ordered Wahoo special served with shrimp. It was cooked to perfection and DELICIOUS!!! My husband ordered their seafood medley and enjoyed every bite! We will absolutely eat there again on our next trip.
